Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean. It is located only 100 miles from the southern tip of Florida. Though so close to the US, it offers a completely different world rich with its own history and culture. The country is famous for its rum, beautiful beaches, American vintage cars, and of course cigars. There is so much to do and see when visiting Cuba. #10. Trinidad
If you love architecture and history, one of the best things to do in Cuba is visit Trinidad. At the center of the city is Plaza Mayor. It is the city’s main square. If you love sea life and scuba diving, one of the best things to do in Cuba is visit Maria la Gorda. If you are looking to simply enjoy the beach, one of the best things to do in Cuba is visit Varadero. The town is a very popular beach resort town only a short driving distance from Havana. Cuba is famous for its national parks; however, one of the most accessible and beautiful ones on the whole island is Vinales. In fact, it was actually Castro’s favorite place in all of Cuba!

#4. Baracoa
Havana is the capital of Cuba; however, that wasn’t always the case. In fact, Baracoa, also sometimes called the First City, was the first capital of Cuba. Diego Velazquez founded the city in the early 16th century.

#3. Cayo Largo del Sur
One of the best things to do in Cuba is visit Cayo Largo de Sur. It is a small island just off the Cuban mainland. Here you will find uncrowded beaches and beautiful water. #1. Havana
It is impossible to visit Cuba without visiting Havana. In fact, it is one of the best things to do in Cuba. The city is cosmopolitan, retro, and sophisticated and has a great night life. However, there is also a lot to do during the day as well.
A great place to start is La Habana Vieja, or the Old Town of Havana. Here you can see beautiful mid century architecture right next to colonial buildings.
