Denmark is a Scandinavian country comprising of the Jutland Peninsula and numerous islands. It has a long and storied history dating back to the times of the Vikings. #10. Lego House
One of the top things to do in Denmark for the entire family is visit the LEGO House. Located in Billund, Denmark, it is also known as the “Home of Brick”. In fact, this is where the LEGO brick was first invented.
While not actually made out entirely of LEGO bricks, it sure does look like it. In fact, the 129,000 square foot facility is filled with over 25 million LEGO bricks. #9. Råbjerg Mile
For the nature lovers, one of the best things to do in Denmark is visit the Råbjerg Mile. The sand dune has been around since the 16 century. It is a magnificent sand dune on the west coast of Denmark.

What is even more amazing is that the dune is continually moving east northeast at about 49 feet per year.

If you are in the north of the country, one of the best things to do in Denmark is visit Aalborg and its Park of Music.
In 1987, Sir Cliff Richard, famous for songs such as We Don’t Talk Anymore, planted the first singing tree in the Kildeparken, city park. It is impossible to visit Denmark without encountering some of its Viking past. In fact, one of the best things to do in Denmark is sail on a Viking ship.
The Maritimt Forsøgscenter (the Maritime Research Centre) gives visitor the opportunity to sail on an authentic Viking vessel. If you haven’t ever sailed before don’t worry, as not pre-knowledge is needed. Instructors will give directions before and during the whole excursion. All you need is a willing spirit. Probably one of the most unique things to do in Denmark is go to the World Santa Claus Congress. In fact, every July, in Bakken, the world’s oldest amusement park, located just north of Copenhagen, the World Santa Claus Congress takes place.[6]World Santa Claus Congress It is one of the largest gatherings of Santa Clauses in the world.
The event is great as it is free for both participants and spectators. In addition to seeing Santa Claus, you will be able to see many of his elf helpers walking around as well. #4. Explore the Great Outdoors in South Zealand
One of the best things to do in Denmark is explore the outdoors in South Zealand.
The area is dominated by Møns Klint, the tallest cliffs in all of Denmark. From here, you can take the great trails along the cliff tops that weave through the forest. While walking along the paths you will get beautiful views of the Baltic Sea.
In addition, when you are here, make sure to visit Stevns Klint. These dramatic cliffs offer some of the best fossil hunting grounds in not only Denmark, but all of the world.
